Hurricane Irene
Well we've had rain all day and that's about it so far. My boys (9yrs & 2yrs) are literally climbing the walls...lol. I owe them a day at the park once the weather is nice. In the meantime, I spent some rare quiet time playing with this.

Love in the Mist
I'm currently listening to Christine Feehan's Carpatian books. The author has a few of the couples making love in a hot spring. I had to do something with that, so here you go.

The Rift Healer by Diane M. Haynes
Rift Healer - Crescent Moon Press
I LOVED designing this cover. The dark earthy feel really makes me want to pick up the book and read it. And you KNOW how special that is when I'm a true audio book diva.

Being Me
I've gotten a lot of notes on facebook and twitter about my work and let me start off by saying thank you so much!! I'm not sure I can really call it work since I honestly LOVE what I do. I get to photograph people all day with my photography business (www.tariareed.com) and then I get to design beautiful book covers into the night.
If it weren't for the book covers and art I design I'd be creatively strangled. I'm going to start posting a bit more about myself as well as the authors I design for. The publishing community is such a friendly place to work. In my short time there everyone I interact with on twitter or facebook has been super duper nice. I don't know about you, but I love it when I send a note or a question to an author and they respond back. And trust me, I stalk them all trying to find out when their print or e-books will be available in audio then I stalk the audio publishers to find out more info...lol.
Yes, I'm the audio book queen. If you look to the left you'll see my goodreads.com book shelf. Each and every one of those books were devowered via audiobook. (please don't tell my husband what I spend on audio books each month, he'd have a cow...lol.)
I'll have more covers to share and some author bios to add, so please keep coming back for more!!

A Shadow Of Time by Louann Carroll
There are more covers to come once I get approvals, but here is another one for you to enjoy. Please click the publisher link to Crescent Moon Press to find out how you can purchase these books.
Consumed by a childhood filled with terror and pain, Kellyn O’Brien strives to create the perfect family. Then, disaster strikes. Her husband is dead. Three weeks later, she discovers her son is heir to Shadow Ley, a nineteenth century estate located in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
Still reeling from Michael's death, Kellyn moves to Shadow Ley. Soon after her arrival, the ordinary becomes the extraordinary: broken drinking glasses repair themselves, stair rails that were once old are now new, and suddenly the estate of Shadow Ley is not what it seems. Frightened for herself, her son, and her unborn child, she seeks to understand.
She turns to the local historian and hears the tale of Sha' na ho bet, the angry fire god, forced from the sky and bound forever to Earth. Native Americans tell her about Coyote, the Dreamer and Trickster who creates order out of chaos and chaos out of order. Then the dreams begin with windows into past lives, hints of multidimensionality, and the promise of life beyond death.
Legends abound and so Shadow Ley, the home Kellyn had hoped would bring peace to herself and her children, becomes mired first in doubt, then in terror, and finally in love eternal.

The Woodlock by Steve Shilstone
I'm always so excited when I complete a new cover. Here is the cover I did for Wild Child Publishing. It's my first Children/YA cover and I'm very proud of it.
In the 4th story of The Bekka Chronicles, a time-traveling shapeshiftress sends Bekka of Thorns 1000 years into the past to perform a task. What task? The frustrated Bekka is unsure and blames the shapeshiftress for failing to give her enough instruction. Adventuring for the first time without her best friend Kar, Bekka is left to stumble all alone in the Woods Beyond the Wood. She is forced to rely solely on her thorough knowledge of historical lore to determine the unknown task she believes must be performed to keep the future as she knows it and likes it. She encounters and recognizes from ancient tales a shy woodlock and twin water wizards. Seeing no other option, Bekka assumes her task is somehow tied to the trio, and she proceeds to take action on that assumption. Is she right? She'll never know until she returns to her own time and finds it changed...or not.

The Red Reaper
What's playing on my iPod? Night Huntress: One Foot In The Grave by Jeaniene Frost (audio book)
Today I decided to re-listen to an old favorite. Halfway through the book my muse pushed me to do a novel inspiration character. This is The Red Reaper aka Kat. She is hands down one of my favorite book heroines. I can't wait to find the perfect picture so I can create my vision of Bones.
Sidebar - CHAPTER 32!!! OH.MY.GOODNESS!!

Angel of the Morning
Remember that song from the 80s by Bonnie Tyler? Sing it with me, ♪♪ Just call me angel of the morning baby. Just touch my cheek before you leave me baby....♪♪ Oh c'mon, I'm not THAT old you remember that song!! Well while I was running errands today I caught a snippet of that song on the radio. I started the piece below a few days ago while I was giving my muse a creative workout. I decided to revisit it today and this was the finished product.
