Untitled

I don't have a name for this piece yet, but I just love the somber peacefulness in it.

Westbound Awakening by Hildie McQueen

Cavalry captain John McClain finds himself on the wrong end of a shotgun when attempting to find his child. Heading west to find the mother of his son and the outlaw who shot him, John is forced to escort an enticing woman whose lifestyle goes against every one of his moral standards, yet she calls to every part of him.

Heading west to meet the dying father she never knew, and possibly starting a new life, Mae Hawkins didn’t expect the added complication of traveling with the one man she always loved.

When they're joined along the road by a minister and his wife, things get beyond complicated for John and Mae who fake being married and awaken to the lesson that sometimes differences are more imagined than real in this unforgettable journey.

The higher ups love her.  Her jacket is filled with commendations.  Yet when she goes to bat for Jack, nobody backs her play.  She is forced to risk her career -- and her life -- to prove his innocence.

The confrontation is put on hold though, when Lilah rushes home for her beloved grandmother's funeral and discovers she's inherited Gram's chocolate shop.

Kevin admires the cool, professional woman Lilah's become, but he misses the feisty girl he once knew and wants to know why fear lurks in her gorgeous eyes. Then Lilah's fear explodes into reality, and more than duty drives Kevin as he races to save her from her former boss's outraged rejection.

The planet is fraught with danger for Kayla, and to compound the issue, Freya tells them that Zarth must share Kayla with his brother Tirian.

Another day another goal...

Well this weekend I took one step closer to another goal. I started shooting images for my new stock site. **insert cheesy grin**. I got really sick of practically going blind looking through public stock houses only to find nothing. I got sick of wishing I could find the perfect image only to have to settle on something totally different. So to put my photography skills to use I decided to shoot my own stock (with the encouragement of some of my cover artist friends). Does that mean I won't be trolling the bigger stock houses to design covers, of course not, but it does mean that when I get a CAIS that asks for a cowgirl with red hair with blonde streaks sitting in a chair reading Moby Dick, I may be able to get that without banging my head against a wall looking through thousands of images. I will also be offering custom photo shoots at a very reasonable price.

The big reveal will come shortly with links and all!!

Deep in the Valley

But instead of providing an escape, a bout of drunkenness ushers a nightmare into Niall’s life...a nightmare of torture at the hands of unscrupulous men who lust for the gold on Cherokee land. And the wounded soul of a boy becomes the scarred shell of a man.

When he finds love with Meli, he hopes to leave his past failures behind. But heartbreak finds Niall again through his infant son.

Can he ever receive forgiveness for his failures? And will his father ever give him the approval he craves?

Set against the backdrop of the tumultuous years of the American Revolution, Deep in the Valley continues the saga of the Ailean MacLachlainn family, whose fortune and future is tied to the fate of the new nation.
