Elementals. People endowed with the ability to control the elements. When a mysterious edict is announced, and all the elementals are forced to live in a reserve, closely-knit together it is without a doubt, disaster will strike. It is in their nature not to be with the opposing element.

When Cassandra, a young Water elementals, learns of a war breaking out, she tries her best to stay unnoticable.
Until, of course, the war shifts to the younger generation of elementals. Cassandra now has to look over her shoulder, and fight for her life if she ever wishes to survive.
